I am a graduate of Mary G. Montgomery High School. I attended the University of Mobile where I received an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I received a master's degree from the University of South Alabama in Library Media Programs. I earned National Board Certification in Library Media Programs in 2010.  In 2011, I received my educational specialist degree in Library Media Programs from the University of West Alabama.

This is my fourteenth year teaching in the Mobile County Public SchooI System. I taught first grade for four years at Semmes Elementary. This is my tenth year at Tanner Williams Elementary where I am serving kindergarten through fifth grade students as the library media specialist. I assist the faculty and staff with technology and curriculum needs. My main goal is to develop a love for reading in each of my students while preparing them for life in the twenty-first century. Ways we accomplish this is through a project-based learning approach, goal-focused Accelerated Reader Program, and hands-on library lessons that are connected to classroom skills. I am committed to impacting student learning by teaching students to be independent, life-long learners.

My husband and I reside in Tanner Williams and we enjoy the community connection with our school.
